To coincide with this announcement, MMF will be hosting a member roundtable on 4th August, exploring the scope of activity supported by the Music Growth Fund.
This session will provide an overview of how the fund could support managers through organisational development, workforce and skills enhancement, partnership building, investment in equipment and infrastructure, and research and development, aimed at strengthening long‑term sustainability across the music sector.
Delivered by Arts Council England, the new MGF is an investment programme supporting the development of new music (original work recently created or performed by living, UK‑based artists and music creators). The MGF welcomes projects which sees direct investment of up to £100,000 available for music management businesses, and builds on the successes of MMF initiatives, such as Accelerator and our recent Value of Music Management research.
Who Can Apply
MGF is open to:
- Music managers and management companies
- Festivals, promoters, publishers, record labels, recording studios, rehearsal spaces, grassroots venues
Why Managers Should Care
The Music Growth Package is designed to help artists and music businesses:
- Access new funding routes for development and innovation
- Strengthen infrastructure that supports sustainable careers
- Build skills, improve working conditions and diversify the workforce
- Reach new audiences and attract further investment, including internationally
This is a strategic opportunity for managers to support long‑term growth, resilience and global reach for the artists and businesses they represent.
What Applications Should Focus On
We suggest managers consider our recent research into the Value of Music Management, which evidences that for every £1 invested in management, £8 of value is returned to the industry, and build a strong case for investment. Projects should demonstrate how investment will grow your business and strengthen the wider music ecosystem, creating better opportunities for:
- Artists and music creators
- Industry professionals
