Fair Play, Fair Pay – Raise Your Voice

09 July 2015

The MMF and FAC are encouraging artists to support the #FairPlayFairPay campaign to ensure all performers get paid from US radio as well as fair market rates on other platforms.

We are encouraging artists and managers to participate through social media to help spread the word, which will in turn help to ensure that the Fair Play Fair Pay bill is given an extra push in Washington DC.

See details of how to get involved below or go to http://musicfirst-coalition.rallycongress.com/17671/support-fair-play-fair-pay-act/%E2%80%8B

1. #FAIRPLAYFAIRPAY

The Fair Play Fair Pay Act intends to bring the US law in line with the rest of the world in paying performers from terrestrial radio. The Act was unveiled in New York in April this year and is supported by Iggy Pop, Cyndi Lauper, Rosanne Cash, Elvis Costello, tUnE-yArDs, Hoobastank, Maceo Parker, PJ Harvey, Crystal Fighters and many others. It’s aim is to require all radio platforms to pay fair market value. You can read more about the Act here: http://musicfirstcoalition.org/

Next week, many artists will be promoting the campaign via social media to give the bill an extra push in Washington.
