New EU Cookie law for website owners

29 May 2012

From 26th May 2012, the new EU Cookie law laid out last year becomes enforceable. The law applies to how website owners use cookies and similar technologies for storing information on a user’s equipment, such as their computer or mobile device. To be compliant with the law, UK websites must provide visitors with sufficient information to make a decision on whether they are happy for a cookie to be placed on their device and obtain consent before placing a cookie.

The ICO has published guidelines and advice explaining more about the regulations and what you need to do to comply, including this video. Click here to visit the website.
