BLACK OUT TUESDAY

01 June 2020

In solidarity with black communities the MMF will observe “Black Out Tuesday”.

The music industry heavily depends on black culture but sees a systematic discrimination against black people on a daily basis. We need to reflect not only on the larger structures of violence and racism but on what we can do as an industry, organisation and as individuals. Recognising and acknowledging that racism and white privilege are deeply rooted structures in our society is crucial to making a change. We stand in solidarity with activists who have consistently and persistently fought against racism, police brutality and inequality.

The MMF will use this day to reflect on what we as an organisation can do to influence change and work towards combating racial injustice in the UK. Tuesday June 2nd is only one day. The fight, reflection and solidarity must happen every day.
