Music Export Growth Scheme – Deadline for Next Round of Applications Announced

The application process for the next round of funding from the BPI and UKTI’s Music Export Growth Scheme will open next week. The scheme is designed to make available grants ranging from £5,000 – £50,000 to UK-registered independent music companies to assist them with marketing campaigns to introduce successful UK music projects overseas.

Key dates are as follows:

  • Applications open – 12th August 2014
  • Applications close – 15th September 2014
  • Sift meetings – 15th – 27th September 2014
  • Board meeting – 15th October 2014
  • Decision announced – w/c 27th October 2014

Congratulations to all those to have been approved in the latest round of funding – just over £250,000 will be provided to independent music companies representing artists who span a cross-section of genres including alternative/rock, electropop, dance, hip hop and soul music:

  • Antlered Man (from London), and Black Moth (Leeds) (touring jointly), signed to London-based New Heavy Sounds.
  • Dry The River (London), signed to Stephen Budd Management (London).
  • Fearless Vampire Killers (London) signed to Wiseblood Management (London).
  • Fenech-Soler (from Kings Cliffe, Northamptonshire), signed to Fwinki Music (London).
  • Fink (Brighton), signed to ATC Management (London).
  • GHETTS (London), signed to Disrupt LTD (London).
  • Hadouken (Leeds), signed to ATC Management (London).
  • Imogen Heap (Essex), signed to Megaphonic Ltd (Essex).
  • Max Cooper (originally from Belfast), signed to Agency X Artist Management (London).
  • Smoove & Turrell (Newcastle), signed to Jalapeno Ltd (Brighton).
  • The Answer (Belfast), signed to TAP Music Ltd (London).
  • The Heavy (Bath), signed to Redlight Management (Bristol).
  • The Wombats (Liverpool), signed to SB Management (London).
