UK Music Survey – Managers

04 February 2015

Last year 900 composers, musicians and songwriters in the UK replied to a survey on their earnings run by UK Music. This was an over 300 percentage increase on the response rate achieved in the previous year, creating a fantastic resource for understanding the economic position of UK composers, musicians and songwriters. In particular, these responses were a key input to Measuring Music, UK Music’s study on the economic contribution of music.

If we are to secure from government the best deal for the music industry, we need accurate measurement of the industry’s economic contribution, which this survey is vital to. In partnership with the MMF, UK Music has developed a survey tailored to music managers.

It shouldn’t take long to complete and the first 1000 respondents will receive £10 of iTunes vouchers to thank them for their input.

It marks the culmination of a process that began with Parliament’s Culture Committee’s 2021 inquiry, which heard from a wide range of voices across the music industry—artists, songwriters, producers and managers—about the deep structural inequalities in streaming.
