We went to the Karousel/SESAC/MMF new talent showcase at Paper Dress Vintage! 3 MMF-member-managed artists were showcasing and it was great night. Some more dates for the showcase this year have been announced: March 19th, June 4th, September 10th and November 19th. We hope to see you there. We were at the Night Time Economy Summit in Manchester this week! It’s such an informative event for those working in nightlife (like managers!).
FastForward is returning to London on 13th and 14th February. Two MMF members, and ex-Accelerators, Vanessa Sinclair and Hannah Turnball-Walter, will be speaking on the panels for driving demand while building success and making money in Europe respectively.

A February update from BBC Music Introducing, a platform dedicated to discovering and supporting new music. This month’s newsletter features news on Eurosonic, FutureTense, Independent Venue Week, 6 Music Festival and the Radio 1 Big Weekend. Members can access this newsletter via the website in Resources.
MMF Board Member Ross Patel will be speaking on a panel at the Green Events and Innovations Conference on 27th February. The panel will cover what green clauses look like, who will implement them, and how we make sure they’re not prohibitive but supportive to a flourishing future green industry.

EMMA are hosting another virtual meetup for Rock/Metal music managers on 26th February. This edition will focus on showcases and festivals. It’ll be important for learning how to apply and propose your bands and artists for some of the most prominent events of this scene in Europe.
WOMEX 2024 in Manchester will be taking place from 23rd to 27th October, presented by host city partner Manchester Music City and delivered by the English Folk Expo team. The call for artists wishing to showcase is now open. There is also an open call for DJs, film, conference proposals and mentoring.
Applications close on Friday 1st March.
