AM Awards to take place on 27th November

14 August 2012

The FAC and MMF are pleased to announce that the 2012 Artist and Managers Awards were launched on August 7th at Adidas Underground in London by Nick Mason (FAC Co-Chair) and Jon Webster (MMF CEO). Last year’s successful inaugural event was held at the Roundhouse but the FAC and MMF are joining the move to east London by holding this year’s event at the Troxy (www.troxy.co.uk) on November 27th.

Last year’s winners were Ed Sheeran, Giant Men Management, Adele, Jho Oakley, Martin Mills, John Glover, Massive Attack and the artists and managers from Everybody’s.

This year will see these awards presented:

  • Breakthough Artist
  • First Rung Manager
  • Artist of the Year
  • Manager of the Year

These four awards will be the subject of nomination over the next 2 months.

  • Industry Champion
  • The Pioneer Award
  • The Peter Grant Award for Management
  • Artist’s Artists

These four awards are in the gift of the FAC and MMF Boards and will be announced in the next few weeks.

FAC Co-Chair Sandie Shaw said “Last year’s event was a great celebration of the artist and manager community and we look forward to an even bigger and better bash this year”

The Awards will be sponsored by fast growing music service Spotify (www.spotify.com) whose Chief Content Officer Ken Parks announced that the service had reached the 4 million subscriber landmark at a conference in London last week.

MMF Chairman Brian Message commented “We are constantly exploring ways for artists and fans to be closer together and to access music in more legitimate ways.”
