Introducing Fast Forward – Amuse’s new data driven service lets independent artists tap into future royalties to accelerate their music career

06 February 2019

Fast Forward’s Groundbreaking Offering Predicts and Gives Independent Artists Access to Up to Six Months of their Future Royalties Amuse, the re-imagined record label offering free music distribution to everyone, today announced the upcoming launch of the data-driven service Fast Forward. By leveraging Amuse’s vast access to music consumption intelligence, Fast Forward lets emerging and independent artists collect to up to six months of their future royalties.

The service enables artists to accelerate their careers while still retaining the rights to their music, staying true to Amuse’s vision of using innovation to support artists’ creative freedom and to stay free from locked-in record deals. Fast Forward uses machine learning to project an artist’s future royalties. Thanks to the company’s direct access to the music consumption data generated through its distribution service, Amuse’s system can automatically analyse more than 27 billion data points to determine future royalties on an individual basis.

The service is seamlessly integrated into the Amuse app, meaning artists using Fast Forward will have the option to view and easily withdraw these future royalties in the palm of their hand, anytime. “Labels have historically used advances to sign artists to long-term deals. We are now using advances to help artists remain independent. Leveraging our data driven approach, Fast Forward allows for quicker payments for artists that want to stay in control.

It’s an opportunity for us to extend our label’s huge benefits to unsigned artists and independent managements as well,” said Andreas Ahlenius, co-founder and Label Director, Amuse. New technologies have transformed the music business, but the antiquated way royalties are paid has remained unchanged. Artists often have to wait months to receive delayed royalty payments, but Fast Forward solves for this problem by empowering artists to catch momentum when it arises. That means they can invest the money back into their music whether it’s to fund a tour, create a video, buy new equipment, or market their music.

“With Fast Forward, Amuse is creating a completely new way for independent artists to fund their music. We’ve built an artist-friendly solution that combines our human knowledge and expertise with billions of data points, resulting in a truly innovative service for the modern day artist,” said Diego Farias, co-founder and CEO, Amuse. Stockholm, February 5 2019 www.amuse.io “We believe many independent artists can benefit from Fast Forward and evolve their careers faster if it’s possible to put their royalties into use when they need it.” In the past year, Amuse has expanded globally into the U.S. and Latin America following a Series A funding from influential investors within the music and technology industries.

The company now has offices in Los Angeles and Bogotá and teams in London and Miami. The company’s global distribution platform caters to tens of thousands of users. It’s complemented by label teams working with a boutique selection of licensed acts across Scandinavia, the US, UK and Europe – such as Moxie Raia, Johnny Gates, Saving Forever, VCATION and an array of the Nordic’s larger hip hop acts.
