Important: Changes in Visa Appointments & Booking Systems at the US Embassy London

01 August 2013

NEW CONSULAR INFORMATION FROM THE US EMBASSY:

Please note that the Visa Branch at US Embassy London is soon transitioning to a new visa information and appointment booking system, which includes a free online appointment booking service for nonimmigrant visa applicants.  This new system is being implemented worldwide.   The new service will become available on July 26, 2013.  From that date, nonimmigrant visa applicants can pay the MRV application fee and schedule a nonimmigrant visa appointment online, or contact the Call Center.  This service is provided through a link from U.S. Embassy London’s website at https://visaguide.world/us-visa/how-to-apply-for-us-visa/uk/, or directly at a separate web address http://usvisa-info.com. These two websites and the Call Center are the only official sources of general visa information from the U.S. Embassy and the only authorized methods to schedule a personal visa interview.

Until close of business July 25, 2013 the current Operator Assisted Information Service will be in place.  If you require visa information or wish to schedule a nonimmigrant visa interview, you should call 09042 450 100 (Calls to this line are charged at £1.23/min plus network extras).  Please note that they will schedule nonimmigrant visa appointments up to and including July 26th only.  If you require an appointment for August and beyond, you will be required to wait until the new appointment booking services comes into operation on July 26.  Please note that the Nonimmigrant Visa Section is closed to the public on July 29, 30 & 31st.
