The MMF Code of Practice was developed in 2013 and reviewed in 2017 – all members of the MMF sign up to this code upon joining. Building on the Code and its intentions to help support the knowledge, standing and professional reputation of the Music Manager, we have processes in place that sets out how the MMF will act if a member is considered to have breached the Code of Practice. This includes case of sexual harassment.

A new campaign has also been launched – Stop 2018. If you have witnessed or experienced sexual harassment in the music industry, they are inviting you to tell them about your experiences in confidence – they will then use this information to work with organisations to ensure safety measures are in place to protect people in the future.

If you have experienced sexual harassment or assault, you can contact one of the following helplines for support:

  • Sexual Assault Referral Centre – dial 111 to find the nearest Sexual Assault Referral Centre. They can provide immediate support and advice, including medical examinations and tests, and will not go to the police until you decide if you want to or not.
  • Rape Crisis
  • Victim Support – 08 08 16 89 111
  • Galop (LGBT+) – 0207 704 2040
