This seminar, organised by the Westminster Forum Project, will examine key priorities for policy and industry in maintaining growth across the UK music sector.
Delegates will discuss how the sector is adapting to latest digital consumption and market trends – including streaming, Big Data and personalisation of services – and will examine how policymakers and advances in technology could address concerns regarding their effects on the value chain.
Attendees will also discuss the potential impact of further new technologies being developed for use in the music industry and their possible application in growing the talent pipeline and supporting brand development.
With an industrial strategy white paper expected later this year, further sessions will consider the role that the music industry should play in the development of a creative industries early sector deal, and assess key sector priorities – particularly around IP, skills and exports.
They will also discuss what further steps can be taken by policymakers to attract inward investment and maintain international competitiveness as the UK withdraws from the EU.
This course is CPD certified, and takes place on Tuesday 28th November.
