MMF, Google & COADEC at Google Campus – 21st June

05 June 2012

We are pleased to announce details of 2 special events to be held on 21st June, both at Google Campus the new tech hub at 4-5 Bonhill St, London EC2A 4BX. The events are hosted in conjunction with Google and COADEC.

The events are separate but linked and you will need to apply to come to both as they have potentially different constituencies. When RSVPing to the first event please be sure to include the answers to the questions specified below.*

PART 1: DAYTIME OUTLINE – 2pm-6.15pm

2.00pm – Welcome to Campus

2.15pm – Google search site clinic: Google’s own experts will be present at Campus to provide a site clinic for artists, their digital management/website content editors and those with online music sites to help make your site discoverable and SEO friendly. Google experts rarely directly engage with users in this way and the site clinic will be extremely valuable in helping you to maximise exposure for your website. Submit your website url (see below) when RSVPing for a chance to have it analysed by the experts.

3.15pm – Demos and networking: A series of great, short pitches from digital startups interested in music, followed by networking – an opportunity for artists, their management and startups to meet, find out about each other and create new opportunities.

5.00pm – 101 on Licensing: Will Page, PRS for Music and Amanda Harcourt, Claydon Park for startups wanting to know more about licensing and for music industry folks who want to understand more about the challenges startups face.

6.15pm – BREAK

*RSVP to info@themmf.net including:

  • the subject line MC
  • a link to the website you would like to be reviewed
  • the answers to these questions:
  • 1. Do you know what Google webmaster guidelines are?
  • 2. Do you use Google webmaster tools?
Due to predicted high demand for this event successful RSVPs will then be confirmed by email.

PART 2: EVENING SESSION – 7pm-9:30pm

7.00pm – The Virtual Label – hosted by Music Managers Forum

We have invited a number of Associates of the MMF to come and explain what they can offer you to help you run your (self-releasing) label. Expect short presentations from manufacturers to merch, book keeping to digital services, admin (the importance of PPL and PRS registrations) to legal – the list is endless! There will be a panel discussion with a Q+A to examine the issues confronting label owners. This session will also include the opportunity to network with people who can help you.

9.30pm – CLOSE

Refreshments will be served.

RSVP for this event to info@themmf.net with the subject line VL. Due to predicted high demand for this event successful RSVPs will then be confirmed by email.

We are sure to be oversubscribed to both events so we may have to limit to one attendee per company. Both events are free to MMF and FAC members only at this stage.
