Winners at the first Artist and Manager Awards announced
A huge thank you to everyone who attended last night’s first ever Artist and Manager Awards, sponsored by American Express, for helping to make it such a success. The sold out event aimed to recognize and celebrate the talent of both artists and music managers and took place at Camden’s Roundhouse with performances from Ed Sheeran and Mumford & Sons.

Achievement Awards sponsored by PPL: Everybody’s Management and Artists
Brian Message of the MMF commented:
“The partnership between the team at Everybody’s Management and their artists has had an amazing year. Keane have delivered a fourth No.1 set, Laura Marling has deservedly won a BRIT and the hearts of many and Mumford and Sons have conquered the world. This award is truly well deserved.”
The Artists’ Artist Award sponsored by American Express: Massive Attack
Sandie Shaw, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd and Ed O’Brien of Radiohead, all co-chairs of The FAC commented:
“We have chosen Massive Attack as the recipients of the inaugural Artists’ Artist Award for their incredible artistic vision, back catalogue, and legendary live performances throughout their career to date. No album collection is complete without Massive Attack and the FAC are proud to recognise them as true artists. “
Manager of the Year Award: Jho Oakley
Jho Oakley picked up the coveted Manager of the Year Award for his work with Pendulum, Chase and Status and Sub-Focus.
Award for Breakthrough Artist sponsored by SESAC: Ed Sheeran
Ed beat off stiff competition from Anna Calvi, Ben Howard and Yuck.
Award for Artist of the Year: Adele
Nominees for the award included PJ Harvey, Plan B and Tinie Tempah but Adele has had an unparalleled year with a brilliant album.
The Peter Grant Award for services to management sponsored by Jemca Car Group: John Glover
Jon Webster, CEO of the MMF commented:
“John Glover began his management career at Island Artists working with Free and Mott the Hoople then developed long term relationships with Go West, ABC, Alison Limerick, Tony Hadley and many others. He has been a long serving MMF Board member and innovative Chairman.”
First Rung Manager Award sponsored by Clear Sound and Vision: Giant Men Management
Awarded to a management team with three years operation or less the award was won by Hiroki Shirasuka and Richard Austen-Smith of Giant Men Management for their work with Anna Calvi, Crystal Fighters and Mount Kimbie.
Also recognized for his services to the industry was Martin Mills of independent label Beggars Group who was presented the Industry Champion Award sponsored by Harris and Trotter in memory of Jason Boas.
It was a great pleasure for everyone here at MMF to gather so many talented people together to celebrate you and your artists’ successes. We are already looking forward to next year’s awards which look certain be even bigger and better.
