MMF Welcomes Resonate as a New Associate!

15 March 2018

MMF are pleased to welcome Resonate as a new Associate!

Resonate is an ethical streaming cooperative on a mission to rewire the way we listen to music. By harnessing blockchain technology’s potential to fundamentally revamp value exchange, Resonate is built on principles of fairness and transparency. Our new #stream2own model ensures that artists get paid fairly; over the course of nine listens, fans will own the song at the same cost as a standard digital download. As a cooperative, Resonate allows everyone involved to be a co-owner, and each member will share in decisions as well as profits. Resonate aims to remedy the music world of ills such as unprofitable monthly subscription models, unfair royalty distribution, and the devaluing of art. To defend and sustain culture are at the core of our mission, as we believe that artists deserve to be paid for their hard work. Resonate is built by and for musicians.
How we would like to work with managers and their artists :
“You cannot imagine how excited we are to join the MMF, and to have the chance to work and collaborate with all the amazing managers and artists that it is comprised of. Becoming a part of the MMF community is a huge opportunity for us as we believe this will give us the chance to work with individuals in the music industry who share the exact same goals we do. Managers safeguard artists and their careers, working to provide artists with the best possible opportunities as well as to foster longevity.
At Resonate, we care about artists in the same way; we hold the same values, and share the same aims. So much so, that by making our business a cooperative, we’re legally sharing equal ownership with every single artist who joins. Resonate always puts artists first, aiming to support them in every facet of their career. We believe that fairness, transparency and fair compensation for their work are primary. We wish to collaborate with managers and artists, so that together we can work to build new structures in streaming and beyond. Working together to enable greater transparency and democracy in the industry, alongside greater control for artists, fairer payment, and thus greater success.”
