Artist & Manager Awards 2018: Jamie Oborne to pick up Entrepreneur of the Year and Breakthrough Artist & Breakthrough Manager nominees revealed
The Music Managers Forum (MMF) and Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) are delighted to announce that All On Red/Dirty Hit’s Jamie Oborne will pick up Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2018 Artist & Manager Awards (A&MAs).
The A&MAs was established to celebrate achievements in the UK’s artist and management community. This year’s ceremony will take place at a new venue – the Bloomsbury Big Top, 93 Guildford St, WC1N 1DN.
Since founding All On Red Management and the Dirty Hit record label back in 2010, Jamie is responsible for building two of the UK’s most innovative and respected music businesses, home to a diverse range of idiosyncratic and inspiring talents including arena-sized success with The 1975, Pale Waves, The Japanese House, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and No Rome.
Operating from a genuinely creative and independent mindset, Jamie has continually championed individuality – supporting acts who others have overlooked, delivering impactful and artistic campaigns, and proving that music released in the digital age can still resonate and succeed on a very human level. Like all the best music entrepreneurs, he sees and understands his artists through the eyes of a genuine fan.
Annabella Coldrick, Chief Executive, MMF, said:
“Jamie Oborne is undoubtedly one of the most inspiring individuals working in music today today. All On Red and Dirty Hit are synonymous for backing the creative vision of their artists, and for delivering brilliant and highly curated campaigns. Given the imminent return of The 1975 and the recent Mercury win for Wolf Alice, this seemed an appropriate moment to pay tribute to Jamie and all he’s achieved so far. The MMF and FAC are delighted to award him 2018’s Entrepreneur of the Year.”
Previous winners of Entrepreneur of the Year include Henry Village (Black Butter Records), Caius Pawson (Young Turks), and Niamh Byrne & Régine Moylett (Eleven Management).
The MMF and FAC can also reveal that Spotify will sponsor the A&MA’s 2018 Breakthrough Artist Award.
Bryan Johnson, Lead, Artist & Label Marketing at Spotify said:
“We’re delighted to be sponsoring Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2018 Artist & Manager Awards. Artists are at the heart of what we do here at Spotify, so it’s wonderful to be able to pay homage to those finding their audience and breaking through with their music.”
