How long have you worked in Management?

3 years.

Who do you manage now?

BLACKGOLD, DeadWax, HENKA.

Where did you find your first client and what inspired you to take them on?

Initially I ran an artist development consultancy service and I’ve found most of my clients working with them through that and then wanting to dedicate more time to them.

What does a good/bad day at work look like for you?

I do my best work in person and always feel more motivated and positive when I have in person meetings rather than emails back and forth. I feel you get some much more worth from real conversations with people. As an independent manager it can be quite lonely and sometimes those days sat behind a computer all day can feel quite isolating and the self doubt can sometimes creep in.

What has been the highlight of your management career to date?

My highlight has been seeing the growth of BLACKGOLD from launch to now and knowing I’ve been an integral part to their strategic rise. From a TikTok going viral to their first tour being a Limp Bizkit Arena tour, it still sometimes seems like a wild dream, but it was 100% real.

What do you think are the big challenges for a manager in 2025?

I understand that it is more complex to be an artist these days, but I feel so many artists aren’t taking value in their managers and this is leading to extreme burnout. Not to mention the financial element that a 15-20% commission model doesn’t even cover the bare minimum of what a manager will do for a developing artist in this current market. We are one of the hardest working members of a team, but often get the least credit.

What have you gained from the Accelerator Programme so far?

Before I was accepted for the accelerator programme, I was so close to giving up. The music industry (Especially in Rock/Metal) can often feel like its driven by gatekeepers and although I had experience on my side, being an independent manager can be a lonely existence. Accelerator has brought together some of the best new managers in the UK and I feel supported and positive about the future, as well as having made 17 new friends and ally’s from all genres who are the most supportive group I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of.

Why would you recommend the MMF?

The MMF helps managers in so many ways, making new contacts, building businesses, education, fighting for cause whilst also giving managers a place of support and belonging.
