Manager Spotlight: Hannah BG

09 October 2024

The manager spotlight offers a small insight into the heads of incredible managers. This week in the spotlight is Hannah BG!

How long have you worked in Management?

Around 7 years.

Who do you manage now?

Fiyahdred, Madam X, Tash LC and Tia Talks.

Where did you find your first client and what inspired you to take them on?

One of the first big clients was Dr Dubplate, his drive and passion was unreal. He’s a true grafter and deserves every success in what he does!

Previously I had been an assistant working alongside other managers.

What has been the highlight of your management career to date?

A huge highlight was Dr Dubplates first Australia and New Zealand Tour back in November last year. I managed to secure funding from Help Musicians to make it possible. It was challenging in many ways but also the amount of work that went into making it happen made those beautiful seas and white sands that much more beautiful. Something I had never imagined being able to do.

Not really a highlight but I really enjoy being asked to talk about my experiences on panels etc. It’s the validation you don’t really get from the job.

What do you think are the big challenges for a manager in 2024?

Honestly, the workload in correlation to the pay managers get is really tough. I totally understand the need to relook at the ‘traditional’ management deal and fully support it!

What have you gained so far from the Accelerator Programme?

It’s been unreal in terms of knowledge and networking. Everyone on this year’s programme has been a dream, we are all so supportive of each other and I love it.

A huge shout out to Paul for all his hard work <3

Why would you recommend the MMF?

It’s a real community that focusses on so many aspects of the job and is always on top of forthcoming trends.

What music are you currently listening to?

Madam X’s BBC6 Sweatbox mix for Sherelle.
