June 30: Streaming Masterclass
Streaming Best Practice: This module covers a range of essential tips and tactics to help artists, labels, managers and their wider teams to optimise their streaming profiles in order to ensure they reach the widest audience and drive engagement across key streaming platforms. We will also look at analytical tools available in Spotify For Artists, Apple Music For Artists and Youtube Studio.
Streaming Marketing: This module begins with a look at pre-save and pre-adds, what they are, how to use them and which companies provide tools to help you build your pre-save campaigns. We then look at tools for on-platform and third-party advertising inside streaming services and take a dive into playlisting strategy. Finally, we go into Chartmetric in depth, which is a very useful tool for understanding how to find and engage with fans wherever they are in the world; and how this can help you to find and pitch to key playlists.
July 7: Facebook & Instagram
Facebook & Instagram Advanced Advertising: This module will help you to get more bang for your advertising bucks across Facebook and Instagram. From establishing your audiences and retargeting them effectively, to creating the most cost efficient campaigns and using analytics to refine them, we’ll help you send your return on ad spend through the roof.
Remarketing: The why, how and what of remarketing. This module will cover the principles of remarketing, how it works in practice and different remarketing platforms, tools and strategies.

In this module we will explain the essentials of YouTube optimisation. YouTube Analytics & Ads: Given that YouTube is a key platform for music discovery, this module serves as a deep dive into making sense of its analytics in order to fuel your channel growth. We will walk you through the most important metrics, how they are measured and how they contribute to your success on YouTube. It will also look at the various ad formats available for channel monetisation as well as for running your own ads on the platform
July 21: Alternative Marketing
Marketing on TikTok: TikTok is the social platform that’s on everyone’s lips, boasting more than 1bn app downloads and spawning viral hits like ‘Old Town Road’. This module explains how the platform works, how it relates to the music industry and how we can market artists to its huge youth audience.
Bringing Live Online: In light of the recent disruption to the music industry as a result of Covid-19, artists need to find new ways to maintain their connection with audiences around the world, and to help sustain a living, with touring not currently an option. Whilst by no means a new technology, livestreaming has become significantly more popular as a result. Music Ally’s ‘Bringing Live Online’ module will cover a range of platforms, case studies and lessons for artists. Besides the big platforms like Facebook Live, YouTube and Twitch, we’ll be looking at newer and/or more-niche platforms like YouNow, and some of the creative ways that artists have been using them to connect and make money.
