The MMF are seeking to hire a Project Manager to lead our upcoming MMF Unite activities. This position is initially for one day a week for twenty weeks (Aug – Dec) in order to arrange 5 virtual events (60 – 90 minutes each) with speakers and group discussion that serve as the main focal point of the MMF’s broader Unite strategy.
Company: Music Managers Forum
Salary: Total project manager fee of £3000 (£150 @ 20 days between Aug and Dec)
Closing Date: Monday 20th July 2020
This role requires a person with a strong understanding of the Black music industry and connections within BAME/BPoC creative industries and activism communities. The candidate will display appropriate project management skills, diplomacy and confidence which will allow these events to be designed and delivered in collaboration with the MMF staff, Chair and Vice-Chair.
The project manager will be responsible for putting together a series of online events, with informative speakers whose topics will enable discusisions around experiences of individual and systemic racism, white privilege, unconscious bias and wider discrimination, with a particular emphasis on these experiences taking place within the music industry. We would like these topics and discussions to be educational, anti-racist, exploratory, stimulating, radical and most importantly, conducted in a way that is inclusive for all who attend. The project manager would be responsible for booking and briefing panelists within allocated event budgets, event moderation, discussion facilitation and working with the MMF team to further develop a detailed action plan in regards to our original MMF Unite announcement.
We want the MMF Unite event series to be an intervention that creates space for dialogue amongst the management community that especially invites Black managers to join and lead conversations.
We strive to ensure that opportunities to work at MMF are open to all. We treat all job applications equally, regardless of age, disability, gender identity or gender expression, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or any other equality characteristic.
We particularly encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, as these groups are currently under-represented in the MMF team.
